The Society held it’s first AGM in the Cooper Suite at Fir Park tonight, and after the statutary agenda items of approving the annual accounts up to September 2012 and then a short address from the Chairman, an interesting debate on the way forward took place.
The meeting was given a presentation by Board Member Brian McCafferty looking at whether we should retain the existing model or move to a Direct Debit model similar to the ones used by Hearts and Dunfermline at the moment. The meeting agreed change was needed and a the board was given a mandate to explore how to take the Society forward to secure the future of Motherwell FC in the long run.
There was a question raised around the behaviour of the Well Bois in recent weeks and this was answered by Society Board member Derek Watson who explained how the plans for self policing to ensure there are no repeat incidents of the smoke bombs and seat damage at the recent game with Albion Rovers over at Hamilton.
The meeting ended with a vote of thanks for the work carried out by the Board of the Society in the last year.
