The Well Society Board are delighted to announce that they are now in the process of establishing an “Exiles Club” within the Society itself, which will target, engage, and benefit ‘Well fans who cannot attend matches, surgeries, and Society events on a regular basis, if at all.
The initiative will be a simple “opt-in” option with no extra charge for current and new members, qualification for which will be based on registered address.
The Well Society Board have agreed that, if it is to successfully interest and engage Steelmen across the globe, it is a project that will require specific input from our exiled members, and that is why we are asking you – the Society membership – for your assistance.
If you are a Well Society member who considers themselves “exiled” (ie. you live outside Scotland or, within reason, outwith the local area) and you would be interested in helping us to better engage the many Steelmen scattered all over the world, then please get in touch. We will be looking to bring at least one voluntary Exiles Club Rep on board to be a part of the design and implementation of the project.
Commenting, the Well Society’s Marketing & Communications Manager Craig Hughes said:
“We have now finalised plans for our 2017/18 Member Benefits and we are excited about announcing the details in the next couple of weeks. We are confident that Society members who can take advantage of the newly designed benefits will be very pleased with the new structure. However, we also recognise that important aspects of Society membership, such as the Member Benefits and being able to attend our events or surgeries, heavily favour those who reside within an accessible distance of Fir Park.”
“We want to ensure that our membership as a whole feels valued, and we are confident that members will already have seen positive developments in 2017 as we improve our communications, accessibility, and engagement. This initiative is just another way in which we want to ensure every single member feels part of the Well Society.”
“However, we certainly believe that we need the unique perspective of exiled Motherwell fans to make this a success.”
Well Society Board member Jason Henderson added:
“As we kick off our first full season as a fan-owned club we are now striving to engage and involve all of our members, whether they live in Motherwell or Mumbai, and the proposed Exiles Club will be just one of many initiatives to make sure that happens.”
