Recommended to Stuart McCall by international team-mate Henrik Ojamaa, Estonian striker Henri Anier joined the Steelmen on loan from Viking in the summer of 2013, having originally joined the Norwegian side after four fruitful seasons at Flora in his native land. The forward made an instant impact, coming off the bench in the opening game of the season to net the winner in a 1-0 victory at Easter Road. By January the following year, after scoring seven league goals, Anier had joined the Dossers permanently until 2016. However, at the end of the 2013/14 season, German side Erzegebirge Aue snapped up the Estonian for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £300,000 – a fantastic bit of business for the ‘Well. Anier’s career in Germany would be short lived, returning to Scotland with Dundee United and Hibernian, before a brief spell in Sweden with Kalmar. The Estonian national side regular would play in Scotland once again, moving to Inverness in 2017, and now finds himself with FC Lahti in Finland.
A product of the Fir Park youth system, Jamie Pollock made his debut in claret and amber against Celtic, coming off the bench during a 3-2 defeat in 2009. He would, however, find first-team opportunities difficult to come by and, after a loan-spell with Clyde, was released at the end of the 2011-12 season. Pollock would follow his Motherwell departure with spells at East Fife, Pollok, Albion Rovers, Clyde for a second time, and then Gartcairn Juniors. More recently, the midfielder has played amateur football for Colville Park.
This particular jersey is from the 2010-11 season and, although worn by Jamie Pollock, is in fact signed by a number of the squad that would ultimately reached the Scottish Cup Final that year – including Stephen Craigan, John Sutton, Tom Hateley, Keith Lasley, Franny Jeffers and more.
